Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Task0 (“Task0,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, web application, and mobile apps (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google.
- Content you create — tasks, projects, reminders, notes, journal entries, search queries, uploaded images, and any other content you add to the Service.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — actions taken in the Service, feature usage, and timestamps, used to operate and improve the product.
- Device and technical data — IP address, browser or device type, operating system, and app version.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see “Cookies” below.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and operate the Service and your account.
- To power AI features — such as smart capture, prioritization, and reminders — by processing the content you submit.
- To send transactional messages (for example, email verification, password resets, and security notices) and reminders or push notifications you enable.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To analyze and improve the Service, including diagnosing problems.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing
Some features rely on third-party AI providers. When you use these features, the relevant content you submit (such as the text of a task or note) is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not sell your content, and we do not permit our AI provider to use your content to train their general models. Content is processed only to deliver the feature you requested.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers — vendors that help us run the Service, including cloud hosting, our AI provider, email delivery, and push-notification services (Google/Apple). They may access information only to perform services for us.
- Authentication — Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Task0, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content or your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction — you can view and edit your account information and content within the Service.
- Deletion — you can delete your content or request deletion of your account.
- Notifications — you can turn reminders, email, and push notifications on or off.
- Regional rights — depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, port, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and operate the Service securely. Most browsers let you control or block cookies, but some features may not work properly without them.
9. International data transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this Policy and applicable law.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
12. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@task0.app.
